It was a strange boost before the GP competition in Budapest.

Dutchman Max Verstappen crashed with his Red Bull car on the way to the starting line. In a slippery curve, he lost control of the car and crushed the front wing.

Verstappen managed to get to the start despite the miserable start and took a surprising second place.

- That was not how I wanted to start the race of course. The mechanics did an incredible job fixing the car. I wanted to pay back with a second place, he says according to the BBC.

Finnish Valtteri Bottas was long heel in the heel on Verstappen and charged for an offensive at the end of the race, but in the end had to settle for a third place.

Hamilton took advantage of the pole position he managed to turn around on Saturday and took an easy victory. The reigning world champion had a 42-second lead after 40 laps, which meant that he could calmly change tires and go out on the track again.

He then followed up last weekend's success in Austria and took his 86th F1 victory. He thus equaled Michael Schumacher's record for the number of victories in one place.

Believe it or not, but we still tried to increase out there. Many thanks to the people at home in the factory, they have done a fantastic job, he says.
