Russian-speaking Australian Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya, a skateboarding champion who died in Moscow, just 10 days after Alex Pauline, the former world champion in snowboarding, was highly praised.
Alexandrovskaya was twice crowned as Australian champion in the artistic skating class for doubles with Harley Windsor.
The pair finished 18th at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in 2018.
Alexandrovskaya retired from the game in February after a series of injuries, but the cause of her death has not yet been officially revealed.
According to media reports yesterday, Saturday, Alexandrovskaya committed suicide in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Friday.
According to Russia Today website, the body of 20-year-old Alexandrovskaya was found near her house with a note she left saying "Love" written on, indicating that the skier had previously attempted suicide due to her depression after she was traumatized.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of her death," the Australian Olympic Committee said on Sunday, describing Alexandrovskaya as "an energetic, talented and athletic figure."
