FC Barcelona closed La Liga positively on Sunday. The number two won on the last day with no less than 0-5 visiting low-flyer Deportivo Alavés.

Barcelona was already a 0-3 lead halfway through goals from Ansu Fati (tighter), Lionel Messi, who tricked the goalkeeper with some nice moves, and Luis Suaréz (header). At the 0-1 and 0-3 Messi provided the assist.

After the break, Barcelona easily went to 0-5 thanks to hits from Nelson Semedo (hard shot) and Messi (volley). Frenkie de Jong, who has just returned from a nasty calf injury, came in just after the 0-4.

Barcelona must leave the title to Real Madrid. The 'Royal' plays in the first game later on Sunday since securing the championship against Leganes and can then increase the lead on 'Barça' to seven points again.

Both Barcelona and Real will play in the Champions League next month. In the return of the eighth finals, Barcelona defend a 1-1 draw against Napoli in their own home and Real must make up for a 1-2 defeat at Manchester City.
