Boxing gym in Osaka Prefecture confirmed infection of three new professional athletes July 20 4:20

JBC, the Japan Boxing Commission, a general body of professional boxing, announced that three players, including gym players in Osaka prefecture, were infected with the new coronavirus. The gym is known to have infected men in their 50s.

According to JBC, the three people who were confirmed to be infected were all in their twenties, two male professional athletes who belong to the same gym in Osaka Prefecture, and a male amateur athlete who was practicing in this gym.

Of these, one professional athlete and an amateur athlete complained of symptoms such as fever, and the other professional athlete had no subjective symptoms, but they were all "positive" by PCR testing.

Amateur players are hospitalized in Osaka prefecture.

In this gym, it has been known that a man in his fifties who was involved in the gym had been infected, and several other athletes have complained of fever.

According to JBC, the athletes who were confirmed to be infected in this gym have practiced in other gyms.

“The number of infected people is expected to increase in the future, and I would like to understand the exact situation and do my best to prevent the spread of infection,” said JBC's Go Yasukouchi, Executive Secretary.
