Marcus Lantz and Joakim Persson met when both were players in the junior national team. Later in their careers, they also played in the same club team, in German Hansa Rostock. Today, they have been friends for 27 years and usually spend time with their families on a regular basis.
- We are the godfather of each other's children. So I definitely classify him as one of my best friends, says Joakim Persson.
Today, both are head coaches in the Allsvenskan, where Lantz coaches Mjällby and "Jocke" Varberg. After each match, the friends have long reviews of what happened on the pitch. But before Thursday, when the Poles meet for the first time in an Allsvenskan match, the mobile has been allowed to rest.
- We intend to go home with three points on Thursday, we will not leave them in Varberg, says Marcus Lantz.
