Ajax completed the arrival of Mohammed Kudus on Thursday. The nineteen-year-old attacker reportedly comes for 9 million euros from the Danish FC Nordsjaelland and signs a five-year contract in Amsterdam.

On Thursday, Kudus passed the medical examination in Amsterdam, after which he signed the contract. The two-time international of Ghana (one goal) will play with number 20.

Kudus, who celebrates his twentieth birthday in early August, made his breakthrough last season at FC Nordsjaelland. The attacker, who has several positions in the forefront, scored eleven goals in 27 official matches at the Danish club.

Due to the impending transfer to Ajax, he was left out of the selection in the championship pool of the Danish Superliga in the last two games. Nordsjaelland finished in sixth place.

Kudus is the third reinforcement for Ajax. The Amsterdammers previously took attacker Antony for 15.75 million euros from Brazilian São Paulo and picked up goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg free of charge at Everton. Stekelenburg played at Ajax from 2002 to 2011.

Ajax has already started preparing for the new season. In the run-up to the Eredivisie start, the team of trainer Erik ten Hag will play exhibition games against RKC Waalwijk (August 8), FC Utrecht (August 13) and Red Bull Salzburg (August 22) in the weekend of September 12 and 13. A training camp is planned in Bramberg am Wildkogel, Austria, from 15 to 22 August.
