Among the reasons for FIFA to decide on this extension of the five changes is the fact that the preseason will be shorter than usual, as well as the compression in the 2020/21 calendar due to the fact that the competitions will start more. late than usual.
"The decision to apply this temporary amendment is at the discretion of the organizer of each competition. The changing impact of the pandemic will be kept under constant review to ensure that appropriate measures are taken in the future regarding this amendment," said FIFA in a statement.
