  • OL will organize the Veolia Trophy on Thursday and Saturday in order to prepare for its big meetings against PSG and Juventus Turin.
  • These will be the first meetings since March with the public at Parc OL. The gauge will be limited to 5,000 spectators, against the Rangers on Thursday as against Celtic on Saturday.
  • The club and then the north turn kop wanted to offer places for these two preparation games to the nursing staff.

OL will still not be able to count on its main group of supporters this week. Despite the authorization of 5,000 spectators, for the first time at Décines since the start of the Covid-19 health crisis, the Bad Gones will neither attend OL-Glasgow Rangers Thursday (8:45 p.m.), nor OL-Celtic Glasgow Saturday (8:45 p.m.). These two meetings, scheduled as part of the Veolia Trophy organized by the Lyon club, will in fact be mainly open to healthcare staff, on the front line against the coronavirus.

OL indicated on Friday that they wanted to thank, alongside the Rhône prefecture, "all the staff on the front line during the health crisis", by inviting them on the first day of the tournament. Initially reserved for OL Park subscribers, Saturday will also be very focused on caregivers. This is due to a nice gesture from the north turn kop and the Bad Gones.

"We are waiting for the authorities to lift the restrictive measures"

This Wednesday, they explained via a Facebook post that they had "a difficult reflection": "We decided that the context did not favor the return of an association and a group of more than 6,000 members. We will therefore wait until the situation improves further and until the public authorities lift the restrictive measures to regain possession of our turn. ”

In the absence of a return from them on Saturday, the Bad Gones therefore decided: "It seemed logical to us that our quota of places could benefit those who, since the end of winter, have gone through painful, tiring moments, and who continue to fight the virus today ", namely" the carers of nursing homes and hospitals that we still thank for all they have done for France ".
