Lupita Gonzalez won silver in the 20 km walk at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Two years later, she was tested positive for the anabolic steroid Trenbolone and then blamed that she happened to get contaminated meat when steroids are used in livestock farming in Mexico.

In a submission, she falsely testified that the meat she ate contained steroids in an attempt to avoid punishment. It is possible if you can prove that you have ingested the preparations with the food.

She now admits that she lied and presented and trusted fabricated documents, in an apology to the International Court of Arbitration, CAS.

May keep medals

The International Athletics Federation's anti - doping body, the AIU, which rules on doping cases, has now decided to impose a four-year suspension for Gonzalez and also to launch an investigation into further punishment for the lies and fabrications of false evidence.

Lupota Gonzalez will, despite the doping penalty, retain both the Olympic silver medal from 2016 and the silver medal from the World Cup in London 2017.
