All five competitions that have been held since the tour started after the corona break in June have been played without spectators. Initially, the idea was to allow audiences into this week's Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, but that plan was scrapped due to the large increase in covid-19 cases. The announcement means that no audience is allowed when the season is to be decided, including the three playoff competitions in the Fedex Cup with the tour final in Atlanta on September 4-7 as the end point for the shortened season. "These decisions are never easy," said race director Allison Fillmore in a press release, saying "this is the best decision for everyone involved."
