In February, 22-year-old Viktor Hovland, the first Norwegian to win a PGA competition, the Puerto Rico Open. A victory that was described as a historic victory - but then none of the top 100 were ranked in the competition.

But Hovland continues to impress, because on Sunday the Norwegian finished third in the Workday Charity Open in Ohio, when 52 of the world's top 100 ranked.

"The performance in itself is perhaps the greatest thing he has done," says Joakim Mikkelsen, golf expert for Viasat in Norway, to NRK.

Hovland led several holes in a row in Sunday's final round in Ohio, but the Norwegian had to settle for a third place, 15 strokes under par. Thomas and Collin Morikawa made it to the playoffs three times before Morikawa was named the winner of the tournament.

- This tournament is significantly larger than the Puerto Rico Open, which is a so-called alternative field event. It can hardly be compared. When Viktor took his first victory, the entire world elite was busy with the World Golf Championship in Mexico, says Mikkelsen.

Norwegian Norwegian Henrik Stenson is now approaching being the best Nordic golfer. Stenson, who is still the only one in the Nordic region who has won a major, can get competition from the young Norwegian.
