After the double gold medals in 2016 and 2017, Linköping has had a few heavier seasons in damallsvenskan. But now the Eastern Goths have got a super start.

3-0 at home against Växjö in the premiere at home, was followed up by 2-1 away against Vittsjö and during Saturday 1-0 at home against Djurgården.

This is after three goals of the new acquisition Ebere Orji - the 27-year-old Nigerian new acquisition with Umeå as the latest club address.

Kanu match's only goal scorer

Against Djurgården, another new acquisition from Nigeria struck for its first hit in the LFC suit - namely national team player Uchenna Kanu.

In the 16th minute, the 23-year-old striker had a dream hit on volley after Frida Maanum's cross - the ball went rock hard next to the post without a chance for the visitors keeper Kathrine Östergaard Larsen.

Eight minutes later, Orji rolled in what everyone thought was her goal number four for the season, after a really quick conversion with Kanu. But it was very doubtfully dismissed because of the offside.

Linköping controlled most of the events. The only one at Djurgården who created some problems before the break was Olivia Schough. But the national team player failed to make it at the closing moment.

Quick back

In the second half, Schough stressed a couple of balls and served on one of these Malin Diaz Pettersson - who had the team's best chance there. But via a defender, the shot was directed to the corner.

Incidentally, Linköping had control of most situations and also threatened some forwards through especially fast Kanu.

A quarter before full time, national team forward Lina Hurtig jumped in for the first time this season after her injury.

Djurgården lifted the game and pressed on the end - but failed to outwit goalkeeper Matilda Haglund.
