NAC Breda has appointed Maurice Steijn as the new trainer on Friday. The 46-year-old former player of the club returns to the Netherlands after more than a year.
"When NAC called, I didn't have to think about that for long," said Steijn, who played 36 league matches for the team from Breda between 1999 and 2002, on the site of his new club. "I have never been willing to become a trainer of NAC. I think we are a good match."
At NAC, Steijn is the successor to Peter Hyballa, who left the Brabant team just like technical director Tom van den Abbeele. The two layers were at odds with the (transfer) policy to be pursued.
Hyballa had only been with NAC since February, succeeding the fired Ruud Brood.
