The international will be played on October 8 at the Friends arena, ahead of Sweden's two matches in the Nations League against Croatia on October 11 and Portugal on October 14 - both matches away.
Sweden would have met Russia on March 28.
The last time the nations met was in November 2018 when Sweden won by 2-0 and secured the group victory in the Nations League.
Yesterday it also became clear that Sweden will meet Denmark on November 11 in Copenhagen.
The match will be the first of three during the extended national team season in November. On November 14 and 17, the Sweden Nations League game ends with home match against Croatia and away match against France.
