That Ian Burchnall is allowed to leave Österund first surprised Daniel Nannskog.

- But when I read around a bit I am not so surprised anymore. There is rumor of a discontent in the player squad. Where it is difficult for a board not to act. Then there is no return, so you actually have to go different ways. If you have lost confidence in the players, it is impossible to continue playing, says Daniel Nannskog.

But he strongly questions the strategy, where Ian Burchnall will continue to train ÖFK until a new coach is in place.

- It's really weird. I don't like what I hear at all. It does not go well with a coach who knows he is going away. Even though he is basically professional, the disappointment can be difficult to handle, and it will be the same with the players when you know that a coach should go away anytime, says Daniel Nannskog.
But he thinks that ÖFK has a solution in progress - or should have.

- They should have a trainer at the entrance. If you have made this decision then you have to speed up the process something huge, so you do not have to run with Burchnall in these matches when he knows he is going to go. You have to go a hundred to find a quick solution, says Daniel Nannskog.

He thinks that more could have been expected of Ian Burchnall's victory as head coach in Östersund.

- You could have expected slightly better results. We have seen very little of the fine game that Östersund had under Graham Potter. But at the same time he has had difficult, heavy conditions to work under and it is not the easiest to replace Potter. Not least with the financial chaos that has been, and in addition, he has had much worse players to work with, says Daniel Nannskog.

Who is the hottest candidate to replace Ian Burchnall is yet to appear, but Daniel Nannskog does not rule out that the club has abandoned the English coach track Östersund has had since 2010.

- It worked great with Graham Potter, and then worse with Burchnall. I do not know. Maybe they need a different focus now. They have been on the English track in two rounds. Maybe you would feel good as a club to go on the Swedish track again, says Daniel Nannskog.

But finding an established name can be tough.

- There are not so many names available. It will be a tough challenge for ÖFK to find a good coach now. But it also applies to teaming up as a player group and perhaps also showing signals to a new coach that this is a fun job to jump on with a motivated player group, he continues.
