Alex Pullin died in a fishing accident after going out to sea to spear fish, according to several Australian media. The accident occurred in the Gold Coast, north of Sydney.

He was found lifeless on the seabed by a snorkeller in an artificial coral reef.

The Australian turned 32 years old.

Pullin took his World Cup gold in 2011 and 2013 and was the flag bearer for Australia at the Sochi 2014 2014 Olympics.
