At the end of May, it was clear that the Ski Classics long-race cup will face four grand slam competitions for the four biggest races. One of the races to be included is the Vasaloppet where Marit Björgen will make a sensational comeback.

For Britta Johansson Norgren, who has won the Vasaloppet twice, no later than 2019, it will be a challenge to meet the Norwegian giant.

- Is there anyone who could be gone for two years to win the Vasaloppet then it is Björgen. I have great respect for her and she is in the camps, how many races she will go I do not know. It gets really exciting and increases the motivation for me, ”says Johansson Norgren to Dagens Nyheter and continues:

- I hope that my experience and the years I have been training in striking will give me a small head start.

However, the Swedish can get even more competition, Therese Johaug, who has dominated in the World Cup in recent seasons, has announced that she intends to go some long distance skiing this winter.

- It is fun that she wants to participate in long distance running, it shows that the status of Ski Classics has been raised among the world cup enthusiasts. At the Vasaloppet Johaug cannot go in and dominate but there are nice races in the spring that fit her better, says Johansson Norgren.
