In January, Petronella Ekroth signed a contract with Roma that extended the season. Almost two weeks ago she left the Italian club.
The 30-year-old midback returns to Hammarby, which she belonged to between 2013 and 2015.
- You will notice that the club is really betting on the women's team, given the players they have brought in. They were close to going up last season. I think Hammarby is worthy of playing in the highest league, with the conditions that exist. A lot has happened on Kanalplan in terms of training facility, it is a huge lift, says Ekroth to Aftonbladet.
Ready for July 15Hammarby plays in the elite. Bajen is in fifth place after five rounds of Sweden's second highest series. The midback is ready for play on July 15.
- I have really kept going, but it is another thing to run intervals and run physical than pure football pace. I start training tomorrow (Wednesday) and get locked into it. But I feel in great shape, says Ekroth.
