There were only a few minutes left of the match when Milan managed to get away against the next-gen Spal. Coming in from the right, Francesco Vicari did everything right to get a goal for his own goal.

Twenty-five minutes earlier, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had made a comeback after the injury he sustained at the end of May. Milan were down 0-2 when the Swede stepped onto the pitch and a quarter later came the reduction.

Despite having a free kick in a decent position after 48 minutes, a very good pass through the defense went to Rafael Leão's poor defense, but the ball went wide. The Portuguese was icy when he finished 1-2 with a clinical finish.

With four minutes left of the regular time, Ibrahimovic had a cannonball to acknowledge a free kick a few meters outside the goal area. The Swede got a good hit and the ball threw under the wall but just outside the goal.

Spal's two goals came in the first half and 2-0 was a real class goal. 38-year-old Sergio Floccari showed both playfulness and emotion when he first noticed that the goalkeeper was far out and then pulled to the ball immediately after a high bounce. The shot just outside the penalty area was rock hard in the goalkeeper's right intersection.

Before that, Spal had taken the lead after a corner. Milan failed to get the ball knocked out between several players in the penalty area before Mattia Valoti got close range and rolled in 1-0.

Milan reduced before the first half was over but the goal was sentenced for offside after VAR review.

At the end of the first half Spal went on an expulsion after Marco D'Alessandro went in with the sole first in a tackle on Theo Hernandez on the midfield.
