And three that make eight. South African Mahlatse “Chiliboy” Ralepelle, tested positive for the third time in his career for a doping drug, was suspended eight years. The former Springbok hooker (33, 25 caps), who passed through Stade Toulousain from 2013 to February 2015, has 21 days to appeal this decision made by the institute for a South African sport without doping (SAIDFS ), after a check carried out in 2019 outside competition.

Already convicted in 2015 but exonerated in 2011

"The Zeranol test [an anabolic] is another false accusation against me, which I refute," Ralepelle told South African media last year. The current Durban Sharks player was suspended two years in 2015 after being tested positive for an anabolic steroid in March 2014, which resulted in his breach of contract with Toulouse.

The first (ephemeral) black captain of the Springboks (in 2006, for a match against a world selection) had however been exonerated by the South African Federation in 2011, after a positive check with methylhexaneamine.
