After three straight crosses in the Allsvenskan came the season's second victory for Malmö.

With only two minutes left of the first half, Malmö scored the only goal that also became the victory goal. Behrang Safari pulled off the attack on the left and then played to Sören Rieks in depth. The Dane, in turn, advanced down towards the card line before striking the ball obliquely-inwards-backwards.

Both Malmö's Jon Inge Berget and Djurgården's Erik Berg missed the ball that landed at a rousing Anders Christiansen who pushed up 1-0 in the net.

In an intense and tough first half, it was heated after just over half an hour. First, Djurgården's Edward Chilufya blocked a play high up the pitch from Malmö's last man Fouad Bachirou who would pull the ball into the offensive penalty area after a corner. In a running duel for the ball on a completely empty MFF pitch, Chilufya overturned after a duel with Bachirou.

The referee chose to free and in the aftermath an MFF player was dropped off the penalty area. Christiansen took the free kick 24 minutes into the match, but failed to hit the target.
