A veteran of football was hospitalized on Monday in the clinical center of Serbia due to duodenal ulcer, reports Sports Journal. In the hospital at Petkovich, a coronavirus infection was detected. After that, the trainer was transferred to another hospital for patients with COVID-19.

On Wednesday evening, Petkovich’s condition worsened. Doctors connected him to a ventilator, but could not save him.

Their condolences on the death of Petkovich were expressed by Crvena Zvezda and Partizan.

With the Yugoslav national team in 1968, Petkovich won the title of European vice-champion. At home, he played for the OFK, and in France in the mid-1970s - for the Troyes. After the speeches, he coached OFC, as well as clubs in Switzerland, Japan, Greece, China, Korea and Qatar.

Earlier it was reported that the champion of the USSR and Russia in motorsport Edgard Lindgren died at the age of 84.
