Arsenal's season has not been very successful. With seven rounds remaining of the Premier League, they are "only" nine, far from a European place.

In the Europa League there was a draw in the semi-finals, against Olympiakos. Thus, the biggest club's best chance of European games next season is to win the FA Cup.

Near a nightmare start

That hope lives on. But it was on the hair, against Sheffield United in today's quarterfinals. Already in the eighth minute, it looked like the team had a nightmare start when John Lundstram from close range nodded 1-0 to Sheffield United. But after the video review, the target was justly sentenced for offside.

Instead, Arsenal, although it was Sheffield United who created the most in the opening match, managed to score 1-0. The home team's Chris Basham was too tough against Alexandre Lavazette in the penalty area, and Nicholas Pepe certainly put in 1-0.

Late receipt

However, Sheffield would acknowledge, after the team had one more goal dismissed for offside. 87 minutes into the match, David McGoldrick hit the post with a penalty, firing in from the right.

But, in extra time, Dani Ceballos could score 2-1 after a weak defense, and Arsenal can thus celebrate a semi-final place.
