Sara Algotsson Ostholt is doing her second international competition this weekend after the corona break.

The cross-country star has its base in the German horse metropolis Warendorf, a city that was completely shut down on Tuesday following a corona eruption at a slaughterhouse in nearby Gütersloh, where more than 1,000 of nearly 7,000 people tested positive for covid-19.

Seven hours in line

Ahead of the competition on Sunday, Algotsson Ostholt was forced to do a corona test to prove that she is healthy, something that proved to be anything but simple, which Tidningen Ridsport was the first to report on.

- It was very bookish. They said on the news that as many people as possible could test themselves for free, but it wasn't that easy. A free test container was opened in another city, but there was a queue of six to seven hours. Then in the evening they said that they could not receive more.

- I don't want to queue for seven hours with people who are sick. I thought I might as well stay at home in that case.

But Algotsson Ostholt found his own solution to the problem.

- My co-workers work at a horse clinic where they test the staff. We did the test and sent it to a friend's friend who has a lab in Munich, she says.

Green light

During the Thursday evening came the test answer which showed that she is ready to compete.

- It looks to be green light, we look forward to it. We who deal with horses are used to solving problems. If there is a stop, you have to take other ways.

In addition to Algotsson Ostholt, two other Swedish riders are registered for the competition: Christoffer Forsberg and Malin Petersen.
