PSG announced this Saturday that three positive cases of coronavirus had been discovered among the female workforce: two players from the U19 team and a player from the professional group.

“The results of serological screening tests and PCR, carried out before resumption of activity, reveal three positive cases at Covid-19: two players from the U19 team and one player from the professional group. A strict health protocol, common to all sections of Paris Saint-Germain, is currently in place ”, detailed the PSG in a press release.

The results of the serological screening tests and PCR revealed 3 cases positive to COVID-19: 2 players from the U19 team and 1 player from the professional group.

The club did not specify whether the player in the pro group had tested positive by a PCR test - which allows to say if the person is infected at the time of the test - or by a serological test - which indicates if the individual has already been in contact with the virus.

Series of tests carried out

In the PSG male workforce, the series of tests had detected three "previous" cases of Covid-19 in players, who were "no longer contagious" and did not question the resumption of the 'training.

The PSG women, who must resume training on Monday, is preparing for the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, against Bordeaux on August 2, and especially to its quarter of the Champions League against Arsenal on August 22 in San Sebastian (Spain) .
