The letter mentions differences in the requirements regarding facilities for players, the size of the stadiums and also the conditions of the media.

The size of the arenas is a clear example where all arenas at a men's World Cup must take at least 40,000 spectators, while at a women's world championships only half as large arenas are required.

A men's final must be played in front of at least 80,000 in the audience and on the ladies side that number is 55,000.

- It is simple requirements if you have on the men's side, but that Fifa does not set to arrange a women's World Cup. For me, that's a worry. If you own a product then you have to put the same value whether it is ladies or gentlemen, says SVT Sports expert Frida Östberg and develops her reasoning:

- It is most important that we need to look at how we can make a change in order for women's soccer to have a higher status, more like the men's. One has to raise the perspective. I think this is a big issue. If you talk about working equally, those who own the question must act.

"Must create conditions"

To claim that the Men's World Cup is a bigger event because of a greater interest globally and thus a bigger economy, Östberg thinks is to start wrong.

- I think we need to create a context and provide the conditions. We know that women's soccer is popular and then we have to create the conditions. You want to see that it becomes more than words, more than talking about wanting to work equally.

After all, the SVT expert is positive that Australia and New Zealand were awarded the World Cup 2023 yesterday.

- It feels good. Women's football has become stronger there in recent years. I also see that you can offer the best conditions for a good World Cup for those who participate.
