You can never be too careful these days. Lokomotiv Moscow has quarantined itself while Russian football has noted an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus in recent days. Players and technical staff will reside at the training center of the Moscow club, which is located in Bakovka, southwest of the capital.

"The team made this decision because of the increased number of coronavirus infections in the Russian Premier League," the current second in the Russian football championship said in a statement. "We are fighting for first places and the Champions League (...) We can not afford to take risks," said the club's captain and goalkeeper Guilherme, quoted in the press release.

Farfan tested positive in May

The Russian football championship resumed on June 19 but was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Rostov's entire workforce was placed in quarantine after the positive test of six players, forcing the club to send its young team to play in Sochi.

Three Dinamo Moscow players were also tested positive and the club's match against Krasnodar postponed. In May, five cases of coronavirus infection were detected at Lokomotiv, notably concerning the eternal Peruvian Jefferson Farfan.
