It's not really good news day for TFC. While the general assembly of the Professional Football League (LFP) decided to maintain a Ligue 1 to 20 clubs and, in fact, relegation from Toulouse, the club announced that four of its players were coming to be tested positive for Covid-19.

Monday, the Violets had returned to the Stadium to undergo medical tests, a prerequisite before returning to the fields.

The results fell on Tuesday mid-day.

Fortnight for the players concerned

“Following these results, the first measure taken is the fortnight of the four players, with a biological control directly carried out in the laboratory. The second imperative is a six-day wait, before carrying out a new test for the entire professional group and technical staff, "said Patrick Flamant, the doctor of the just-named professional team, in a press release.

Tests prior to the resumption of activity were carried out yesterday afternoon.

The results reveal four # COVID19 positive cases within the professional group.

“The measures of prevention and social distancing will be applied, with in particular the establishment of signposted routes. Contacts between players are prohibited, both on and off the pitch, "added the TFC medical manager, who had previously worked for LOSC and AS Monaco.

Still active virus circulation

These new cases come while the Regional Health Agency has just announced that two agents from Credit Municipal de Toulouse had also been tested positive for coronavirus after having manifested the symptoms.

Our file on the coronavirus

In order to avoid setting up a chain of transmission, the ARS Occitanie teams immediately launched the necessary investigations to identify the contact cases. As a result, 19 cases are currently in solitary confinement for a period of 14 days. The regional authorities are alerting to the maintenance of barrier gestures and the circulation of the virus, which is still active.
