Heracles Almelo has attracted Rai Vloet on Monday. The former youth international comes over from Excelsior transfer-free and signs a three-year contract in Overijssel.
The 25-year-old Vloet returns to Heracles in the Eredivisie, where he previously played with PSV and NAC Breda. Via Frosinone in the Serie A and Sint Truiden in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Excelsior brought the attacking midfielder back to the Netherlands last season.
"From Excelsior I wanted to take a step higher and the Eredivisie was certainly part of that," said Vloet on the site of his new employer. "There was interest from several clubs, but the offer of Heracles Almelo fits exactly what I am looking for."
Technical director Tim Gilissen expects a lot from Vloet, who completed the PSV youth academy. "He has shown that he has specific qualities. He has also proved that he can score goals at Jong PSV, FC Eindhoven, NAC Breda and Excelsior. We will work with him to get the most out of it."
Vloet is the second player Heracles has committed for next season. Delano Burgzorg, who played on a rental basis in Almelo last season, was previously recruited.
