High School Baseball Tohoku No. 1 Tournament to be held in August 6th at 6 prefectures winning team 18:25 on June 20

Due to the suspension of national high school baseball in the summer due to the influence of the new coronavirus, a competition to decide the Tohoku No. 1 with the winning team of the original competition held in each of the 6 prefectures of Tohoku will be held. . The prefectural conventions will be held all over the country, but this is the first time that the winners have decided to hold a regional competition.

In response to the cancellation of summer national high school baseball, the high school baseball federations of the six prefectures of Tohoku have decided to hold a substitute prefecture-specific competition from next month to August.

Against this backdrop, the Tohoku District High School Baseball Federation decided to hold an extraordinary conference on the 20th to hold a tournament that decides the Tohoku No. 1 among the 6 teams that won each competition.

The tournament is a tournament method, and will be held at Ishinomaki City Stadium in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture from August 9th for 3 days. There is no opening ceremony to prevent infection, and in principle, it will be held by an unaided audience.

Since the schedule of the tournament partially overlaps with the schedule of the exchange game held at the Koshien stadium in August, this time due to the participation of the Senbatsu High School baseball school in the spring, the three Tohoku regions such as Sendai Ikuei High School in Miyagi participate in the exchange game. It means that the schedule has been adjusted with the Japan High School Baseball Federation so that even if the school wins, both can participate.

In addition, Takanoren in the Tohoku region has decided to hold a unique Tohoku tournament in Miyagi Prefecture for baseball.

Chairman Takao Tanno of the Federation commented, "We hope that the members who continue to aim for higher ranks will be encouraged in response to the cancellation of the national competition."
