The transaction amounted to some 50 million euros, according to English media. Importantly, Werner will join the Blues in July, once the German championship is over. He therefore gives up participating in the final phase of the Champions League in August with his club. A big blow for the latter, who loses his main offensive weapon. Werner has scored 30 goals in 40 games in all competitions this season.
