The date and place were not chosen at random. In the conflict against the management of the Girondins, the Ultramarines intend to continue to put pressure on the town hall of Bordeaux to make things happen. The largest group of Bordeaux supporters therefore calls for a rally on Saturday, June 27 (the day before the second round of municipal elections) in Place Pey-Berland, in front of the town hall, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The objective is to “relocate the south bend” on this emblematic square of the city to make heard “a cry of anger, a cry of concern, but also a cry of passion” faced with the situation of the club. By this action, the Ultramarines not only want to bring together the most loyal supporters of Girondins as has already happened at the Château du Haillan but to appeal to all lovers, near or far, of the club.

Put pressure on the municipality

Faced with management still supported by the club's shareholder (King Street) despite the institutional crisis that the Girondins are going through, the Ultramarines base practically all their hopes for change on the mayor of Bordeaux. This has no executive or financial power over the club but a significant nuisance power. The mayor, Nicolas Florian, recently proposed dates to the American investment fund to meet its leaders and discuss the future of the club.

As revealed by 20 Minutes, the municipality has been asked in recent weeks by potential buyers: "They especially want to know if the town hall could veto a project to take over the club, I replied that they were not, but their contact at the time is King Street, "recalls Nicolas Florian. Another question: if the current owner of the Girondins is not a seller, does the mayor intend to impose a change of direction on him to end this crisis? "On the other hand, I am not legitimate to impose this on them, however, I can put forward useful advice and tell them that their interest may be to review their mode of governance. "
