Coleman himself writes on Twitter that he can be expelled from athletics after failing in his reporting.

According to the sprint star, he missed a test on December 9 last year and his appeal with the anti-doping organization Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has not gone through. He considers himself innocent and writes that he was shopping for Christmas presents and therefore made mistakes in his reporting.

Can be switched off for two years

The offense is his fourth since June 2018, and the third in a twelve-month period. In this way, AIU could sentence Coleman to up to two years of suspension.

Already when the American took home his first World Cup gold in Qatar last year, there were question marks around his start. It had long been unclear if Coleman would be allowed to participate, as he was accused in the summer by the US anti-doping agency Usada just for having failed in his stay reporting. However, he has never been tested positive for doping.

During the corona pandemic there has been widespread concern that anti-doping work will suffer when the sport is at a standstill and it has been more difficult to test practitioners.
