The association said that the decision was made at a meeting of the Board of Directors chaired by Abdullah Al-Junaibi, and was attended by Vice President Jamal Al-Marri, members: Mohammed Al-Yamahi, Hassan Al-Marri, Tariq Al-Shabibi, Saeed Al-Kaabi and Jawaher Al-Suwaidi, the association’s executive director, Walid Al-Hosani, and business development consultant, Khaled Mohamed Abdullah.

For his part, the Football Association announced that it will hold an emergency meeting at six in the evening, chaired by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Federation, and with the participation of all members of the Board of Directors, adding that the emergency meeting, which will be held by the videoconferencing system, will discuss the latest developments related to the fate of Football season and local competitions.

The first item on the table for the General Assembly Meeting of Clubs, which is scheduled today, will be related to crowning Al-Ahly youth leaders with the title, or canceling the competition without announcing the champion.

Al-Ahly youth tops the league table with 43 points, seven rounds ahead of its conclusion, with a difference of six points from runner-up Al Ain, which has only 37 points.

The past hours have witnessed leaks regarding Al-Ahly youths crowning the league title, as one of the scenarios prepared by the League to determine the fate of the current version of the competition.

As for the second item that will be presented during the meeting, it is related to increasing the seats in the Arab Gulf League clubs to 16 clubs with qualifying leaders and runners-up to the amateur league.

The regulations require that the League of Professionals does not have the right to increase the seats in the Arab Gulf League clubs, except after formal approval by the General Assembly.

An official source in one of the clubs of the Professional League said that in the case of agreeing to crown Al-Ahly youth with the title, the arrangement of the league schedule will be approved as it was before the stoppage, in mid-March.

The public had reacted to the leaks of the decision to crown the leader and cancel the landing, and considered it fair for everyone, as there is no harm to any team participating in the league, especially that it gave the two teams, the Fujairah and the Hitta, not to land with the rise of the leaders of the Amateur League: the Emirates and Dibba Al-Hisn, as well On not wasting the efforts of Al Ahly youth, who are issued six points behind Al Ain, who are in second place.

But in return, a number of tweeters expressed their dissatisfaction in the event of canceling the competition and crowning Al-Ahly youth with the title, stressing that the competition should be completed or canceled without crowning a champion.

For his part, Chairman of the Emirates Club Mahmoud Al Shamsi told «Emirates Today» that any possible decision that contributes to the rise of the Emirates and Dibba Al Hosn clubs to play in the Arab Gulf League will be a fair decision for the two teams.

He added, "The establishment of the next season with 16 teams will be a major equity for the hawks and Dibba Al-Hisn, for the great efforts made by the two clubs throughout the season, and the budgets that were spent in order to achieve the dream of going up to the professional league, and this will be a real benefit for the two clubs."

The Football Association will hold an emergency meeting today to discuss the latest developments related to the fate of the football season and local competitions.
