It is now official. The final of the 2019-2020 Champions League, competition suspended mid-March because of the coronavirus, will take place on Sunday August 23 in Lisbon, after an unprecedented final tournament bringing together eight teams in the Portuguese capital from 12 August, UEFA announced on Wednesday 17 June. 

The #UCL quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon between 12 and 23 August 2020. All these ties will be single-leg fixtures.

A similar tournament will take place in four stadiums in Germany to complete the Europa League, which ends on August 21, the European Football Confederation said after a meeting of its executive committee to establish a new calendar after the postponement of all its competitions due to pandemic.
