The Syrian Football Association decided today to form an investigation committee to expand the issue of bribery raised by Al-Taliaa player Shuaib Al-Ali, a spokesman for him told AFP. In a press release, the federation decided to dissolve the referees committee after recording a series of mistakes in the stages, which were held after the return of the competitions in late May, after stopping for months due to the emerging Corona virus.

Al-Ali accused one of those close to Tishreen club of trying to bribe him to facilitate the latter's victory over his team in the match that took place last Saturday in Hama within the twentieth stage of the Syrian League, and ended with Tishreen's victory with two clean goals.

The director of the media office in the federation, Yamen, indicated that the player’s testimony was heard today, and after that, it was decided to "expand the investigation process with several parties, and establish an investigation committee on the accusations of bribery, headed by Brigadier Hatem Al-Ghayb, head of the Football Association, and the membership of Talal Barakat and lawyer Hossam Moasas."

The Federation has not yet formally commented on the case, pending the completion of the investigation, noting that Tishreen rejected these accusations. Al-Ali had revealed that a person close to Tishreen had tried to bribe him, in order to deliberately lose to him before their Saturday match. Tishreen tops the standings with 46 points, 6 points behind the army's closest pursuit.
On the other hand, he stated the need for the Federation to take a decision to dissolve the main rulers committee, which was chaired by the Vice-President of the Union, Zakaria Channel, and he was assigned to form a new committee.

The decision of the Referees Committee comes after influential refereeing errors witnessed in the local championship, which led the Referees Committee yesterday to suspend five referees indefinitely.
The reasons for the suspension sentence came, according to the committee's communication, "after analyzing the arbitration errors in the 18, 19 and 20 stages of the League Championship," without mentioning these errors. The referees are: Yasser Al-Hussein, who led the Jiblah and Al-Karama match (1-0) in stage 20, the first assistant referee Ali Ahmed, one of the referees of the Al-Ittihad and Fatwa match in stage 20 (zero-zero), and the refereeing team for the October and Sahel match in stage 19 (1) -Safar) The author is from Mazen El-Ghayb, who is the brother of Hatem El-Ghayeb, President of the Football Association, and assistants Amer Abdullah and Hussam Hassan.
