The 28-year-old Turk was selected by Utah Jazz at the 2011 NBA Draft. In total, he took part in 634 matches, gaining 11.6 points and performing 7.6 rebounds per game on average.
Kanter is in opposition to the current Turkish authorities and has long been unable to get home.
