IFK Gothenburg has recruited homebounders Jakob Johansson and most recently Mattias Bjärsmyr. There has also been speculation about a return for national team striker Marcus Berg when his contract would expire this summer with Krasnodar.

In May, Marcus Berg was also at Kamratgården when he trained with IFK Gothenburg.

But there will be no return right now as Krasnodar writes on social media that Marcus Berg has extended the contract to next summer.

Between 2005 and 2007 Marcus Berg played with IFK Gothenburg when he then left for Groningen. After moving to the Netherlands he has represented Hamburg, PSV Einhoven, Panathinaikos, Al Ain and since then he is playing in Krasnodar.
