His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee, approved the formation of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration, in accordance with Federal Law No. 16 of 2016, issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and based on his Highness’s mandate from the Association Committee of the committee at its last meeting to choose the formation of the center.

The center is managed by a council called the “Sports Arbitration Council” in accordance with Article (6) of the Federal Law, which is related to the formation of the center. Al-Batran is a representative of the individual games, in addition to the three external experts, Hamda Al-Shamsi, Saeed Al-Ajil and Ahmed Al-Dhaheri. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum blessed the formation of the center, which aims to expedite the settlement of sports disputes through conciliation or arbitration, and to spread the culture of conciliation and sports arbitration in the state, especially among the working bodies, and closer relations with the authorities involved in sports arbitration in the state and abroad, Encouraging partnerships with it, as well as participating in relevant sports forums. The center exclusively deals with arbitration in all sports disputes, especially disputes arising from the final decisions issued by the operating authorities and the Olympic Committee in accordance with its statutes, disciplinary decisions issued under the regulations of the workforce, and the appealable decisions issued by the National Anti-Doping Committee.

The center is also concerned with arbitration in sports disputes whose contracts contain a condition or stipulation of a sports arbitration stipulating the resort to arbitration with the center, and conciliation in mathematical disputes whose contracts contain a condition or stipulation of sports conciliation stipulating the resort to conciliation with the center.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee, Mohammed bin Sulayem, stressed the importance of this step in the march of the sports sector in the Emirates.
