It was in the first race of the season in Oslo, that the cross-country skier and the Norwegian champion at 10,000 meters, ran in goal at the success time.
Ingird Kristiansen was one of the biggest distance runner stars in the 1980s and switched cross country skiing to athletics at the age of 24. She believes that Johaug's journey to where she is today is the basis for her not being able to enter the world elite in athletics.
- She ran like a clock and it was a fun race to watch. But since she has been running such tough training for many years, I think it will be a little too tough to change to a new sport and start over there again.
