The Vice President of the Emirates Volleyball Federation, Abdulaziz Al Salman, stressed that the decision to cancel all competitions organized by the Federation is in the interest of all clubs, stressing that "the victory of the victory team for the General League Championship canceled with 40 points, does not mean that he is entitled to the title of the competition." That the competition system is held from the round-trip system, provided that the first four owners qualify for the decisive round «Play Off», pointing out that the internal regulations will organize external posts in the new season.
Al-Salman revealed to "Emirates Today" that "the decisions we have taken are protected by the International Federation, after its message to all unions that canceling or resuming the competition is an internal matter, due to the spread of the Corona epidemic."
The plane association had decided to cancel the current season for all competitions in different age groups without crowning any champion, in light of the prolonged cessation of activity due to the precautionary measures taken against the spread of the Corona virus.
Al-Salman explained that the decision is in the interest of the clubs mainly, and he said: “It will be difficult for the clubs to prepare for the completion of the season in the current circumstance. All clubs have suspended their sports activities since mid-March, and players need approximately 45 days to regain their readiness. This means "The period will be too narrow to complete the season."
The federation vice president added: “The clubs gave their players and technical equipment an open leave while there are clubs that dispensed with their coaches and foreign players, and this means that it is very difficult for them to return to activity in a quick period, as I mentioned, the period is narrow, so we found it best to cancel the season in a way Whole".
Al-Salman pointed out that before the cancellation of the sports season in the Volleyball League during the Gulf War, and at that time, no complaints were observed by the clubs, and he said: "This is not a precedent in the Volleyball Federation." He said they expected other unions to follow the same path.
The federation became the first among all local federations to cancel the season, and it is also among the first in the world. And on the next season, he said that he would start in the last week of September, two weeks before his usual date, hoping to complete the season before the start of Ramadan next year.
The leading victory will not be opposed
The supervisor of the Al-Nasr volleyball team, Ahmed Al-Janahi, confirmed that the decision of the Volleyball Association constitutes a shock to their aspirations, especially that their team was at the forefront. Al-Janahi assured «Emirates Today» that they will not object to canceling the season, and will accept it, especially in light of the measures taken at the present time due to the Corona virus.
He continued: "The decision is correct, shocking, but what we have is a trick, we have to accept it." He expressed his hope that their club will obtain concessions in the next season.
