Unlike festivals or sporting events, esports competitions escape the tide of Gwenn ha Du for the time being. But that could soon change since the Brittany region is very interested in the discipline. It even pushes the plug further by announcing the creation of its own team "to wear the colors of the territory in major tournaments," she said in a press release.

In connection with the Rennes association 3 Hit Combo, it has just launched a call for projects in order to constitute its team. To apply, associations must justify more than a year of existence, have their headquarters in Brittany and present a team of which at least half of the players are domiciled in the region. The deadline for submitting applications is September 6.

Physical and mental preparation for players

The selected Breton team will benefit for the year 2021 from “financial support capped at 10,000 € allowing it to participate in major national competitions” as well as “performance support by the Brittany Sport Campus in the fields of physical and mental preparation ”.

The Brittany region has also announced that it will launch a major esports challenge next year. This competition will offer several regional events which will qualify for the final tournament which will take place as part of the Stunfest of Rennes in the spring of 2021.
