At the microphone of Europe 1, the emblematic and combative OL president, Jean-Michel Aulas, returned to the stopping of the Ligue 1 championship which he considers unjustified. It also responds to the Professional Football League, and in particular to its executive director general, Didier Quillot.  

"We must ask ourselves whether the decision made was not too premature." After the rejection on Tuesday of a resumption of Ligue 1 by the Council of State, Jean-Michel Aulas maintains strongly that it is necessary to resume the championship. At the microphone of Europe 1, he explains why and also responds to his detractors, starting with the executive director general of the Professional Football League (LFP), Didier Quillot.

A loss of several million euros for French football

At the announcement of the decision of the Council of State to validate that of the Board of Directors of the LFP to stop the season and to define the final classification according to a performance index, two points disputed by Jean-Michel Aulas, Didier Quillot had a little sentence that did not go unnoticed for the president of OL. "We are very happy [...] it is the victory of the general interest." A few words that suggested that Jean-Michel Aulas was fighting for his own interest.

But the latter "could say the exact opposite": "When we talk about stopping the championship, we are talking about several million euros [of losses] for French football [estimated at 800 million euros, note] but also a lack of competitiveness in the future, both for [French] clubs and for France. " If he recognizes defending "a certain number of own interests", the emblematic president of OL points out that the "calendar of Ligue 1 was adopted with rules different from most of the other professional leagues in France, but also abroad".
