Polish attack star Robert Lewandowski, as so many times before, showed the way when he pressed the victory goal in the 74th minute. Nicely forwarded by Joshua Kimmich, he threw himself in the penalty area and set the ball low in the right corner, then embraced by cheering teammates at a crowded Allianz Arena.

Prior to that, Ivan Perisic had given the home team the lead in the first half, before the guests acknowledged with 20 minutes left.

Final at the Olympic Stadium

The victory means that Bayern can take their second straight cup title, the club's 20th overall, in the final against Leverkusen on July 4.

That match is played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
