French media reported that Al-Jazira entered into negotiations with French club Saint-Etienne, to include Swiss defender Leo Lacroix during the summer transfer period.

"Le 10 Sport" newspaper explained that the Al-Jazira club is the largest financial offer, pointing out that it is facing strong competition from the Swiss Sion, and Istanbul, Basaksehir, Turkey.

She added: "Lacroix had received other offers in May from Sampdoria and Frosunini of Italy, and the Swiss club Lausanne expressed its desire to include the player starting from next season."

She noted that Saint-Etienne places the Al-Jazira club offer at the forefront of the offers it is discussing, in addition to the Swiss Sion offer.

The player of Brazilian descent is 28 years old, with a market value of 800,000 euros, according to the "Transfer Market" website specializing in the transfer market and player prices.
