Hockey All Sweden is the country's third largest league, measured in terms of popularity and number of visitors per season.

Still, the league or its clubs have no representation on the board of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. However, it has SHL and SDHL. It thinks the league's CEO Stephan Guiance is wrong.

- It is not reasonable for an interest organization such as SHL to have a guaranteed seat on the SIF Board of Directors. It would be as if SAF or LO subscribed to a place in the government.

Have had enough

Hockey All Swedes have long felt abused by the union. They have long considered that the only league that is fully taken seriously by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association is SHL.

- For all major issues where different interest groups in Swedish hockey are opposed to each other, SHL always comes out as the winner. No wonder when you get to participate and both prepare and decide on the issues, says Stephan Guiance, and continues:

- Either all interest organizations in Swedish hockey will be placed on the board or SHL and SDHL will be removed from the board.

Now you have had enough. In a series of letters, Hockeyallsvenskan demands change, respect and concrete force of action. Furthermore, the league believes that Anders Larsson counteracts the unification of Swedish elite hockey.

New scheme in Swedish hockey

Håkan Svensson, Chairman of the Board of Hockeyallsvenskan writes, in a letter to Anders Larsson:

"We demand that our issues be taken seriously and not followed by bureaucracy and smoking curtains"

SDHL is now guaranteed to be a place in the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, but it is, according to Hockeyallsvenskan, something that has no effect.

"The fact that SDHL has now obtained a seat on the board is only a policy since the owners of SHL and SDHL are basically the same," says Stephan Guiance.

However, the burning issue right now concerns an extra qualifying spot for SHL. In the coming season, a team will be promoted directly from Hockeyallsvenskan to SHL. It is already nailed, and is about a new order in Swedish hockey. This was decided after an investigation led by Ola Lundberg and club by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

Written to Anders Larsson

Due to the prevailing circumstances, with the abrupt closure of the Hockey Allsvenskan - where no team this season was given the opportunity to take the step up to the SHL - the country's second division now needs to be compensated.

Several letters have therefore been sent to Chairman Anders Larsson demanding an extra qualification. A requirement that relates only to the coming season. This is because of extraordinary circumstances. But where they got the cold hand.

"Is very critical"

In a reply, authored by Chairman Anders Larsson, the question of qualifying mechanism season 2020/2021 is on the elite committee's agenda. But that answer is not satisfied with the Swedish management.

- The Hockey All Swan is very critical of the current system and believes that Anders Larsson by virtue of the Chairman of the Board in a completely different way than what is happening today must drive a democratization process by the union, says CEO Stephan Guiance, and continues:

- We do not believe that the SIF simply sees the current democratic deficit.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association Chairman Anders Larsson does not agree with Hockeyallsvenskan's criticism.

- Basically, we have a democratic model that follows the rules of the Swedish Sports Federation, he tells SVT Sport.
