FIFA president Gianni Infantino does not expect the fans to return quickly to football, even as the rules of the Corona Virus crisis are eased.

"Let us not forget that there must always be a place for the masses," Infantino said in a video message to the 211 members of the International Federation.

He added: "Clearly football without an audience is not what it is, but we must be patient when we consider the most appropriate date to return the fans to the stadiums."

He continued: "We will continue to work tirelessly, but with confidentiality and respect, to bypass these interim measures, to ensure the safe and responsible return of the masses."
The Bundesliga competition is back without an audience, and Italy, Spain and England will soon follow it. While a limited number of fans started returning to matches in Hungary.

Infantino said FIFA was hosting a number of online discussions with local federations and stakeholders "to better shape football in the future".

The agenda of these discussions will be on the agenda of international matches and the number of matches played by major players.

Infantino also said he had heard "interesting proposals" on financing and governance from "salary limits, transfer ceiling or other tax mechanisms" and the creation of emergency funds.
