Whether it is possible to carry out a World Cup season starting in the fall is still largely uncertain - but already it is clear that the road to it will be anything but ordinary.

The Swedish national team has not yet informed its riders about the infection control rules that apply under training conditions. Unless otherwise stated, Charlotte Kalla relates to the guidelines she received from her own club, Piteå Elit.

- We will travel in our private vehicles, stay in single rooms and we eat out of food boxes instead of buffet which we otherwise do. We prefer not to be in the gym, but to exercise outdoors, but if we still do, we have to spray everything before and after in the gym. We must not hug and not take care, says Kalla before she puts on another restriction:

- Yes, and we are not allowed to ride roller skates in width. We must not go next to each other.

Norwegian doctor's criticism

The exact distance rule was not followed to the point when the Norwegian skiing team, which currently has a training camp in Oslo, went roller skating in groups on Wednesday. Therese Johaug and the others sometimes drove close together in a cluster on the country road - despite the provision to keep a distance of two meters from each other constantly.

- During such a training session it should be possible to keep two meters, says the Norwegian national team doctor Øystein Andersen critically to NRK and states:

- It's too bad.

When TT reaches Charlotte Kalla, she is on her way to Östersund for national team collection, where among other things value values will be discussed and physical tests carried out.

She also expects to have clarity on the infection protection rules that will apply from national team teams in the future - and when it comes to keeping distance with each other in a group on roller skis, she understands that it became a challenge for the Norwegian riders.

"May be patient"

- If you have to drive tough speeds, you are often shoulder to shoulder and lost. But I have no idea how it will be experienced once we are there. Even though we receive instructions from the club a month in advance, it is difficult to know how difficult it will be.

TT: How do you think the coming season will be?

- I hope we will compete in winter in some form. I don't think much about how it will be. The best thing I can do right now is to focus on the near future. I just have to be patient.

Do not want to speculate

The international skiing association Fis has produced a so-called "plan B" for the 2020-2021 World Cup, if the corona pandemic makes it impossible for the original schedule, where Sweden can arrange three straight races. The idea is that the competitions will be decided on limited geographical areas in order to reduce the amount of travel.

Whatever the case may be, Charlotte Call calls for the conditions.

- Those who make the decisions may consult all experts and make wise choices. It's so far ahead of time so it's hard to speculate and I'd rather not be in those speculations.
