The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sports decided during its meeting, today, Wednesday, the "remote" video communication system headed by Abdul Rahman Al Owais and in the presence of all members, to hold elections for the boards of sports federations on time and without delay, in coordination with the National Olympic Committee, at a time the authority has not set a date Clear to conduct this year.

Abdel Rahman Mohamed Al Owais directed the necessity of building strategies that touch with global conditions and developments and setting clear policies and building it to achieve the continuity of sporting activities in line with the measures taken globally in the emerging coronavirus (COFED-19), in a way that is related to the sports sector in growth and stability.

The Council stressed the importance of the UAE being the most prepared and fastest advancing at the level of the sports sector because of its importance, and that sports federations in the country must work in an innovative way and in a more comprehensive way to accommodate the requirements of the stage and its challenges.

He said in a statement to the commission: "The sports sector needs to establish greater through new programs and exceptional projects that address and stand in front of the challenges witnessed by the sports sector during the crisis faced by all sectors in the world without exception, and the formulation of forward-looking policies to ensure the continuity of work, whatever the challenges, planning and building mechanisms An innovative, unconventional work that enables the sports community to engage with developments and transform them into opportunities and an example to set.

During the meeting, the Council reviewed the directives of the Emirates government towards its preparation for its fifty-one within the visions and aspirations of the wise leadership that seeks to polish all sectors of the country in a distinct and unified way.

 The Council directed to circulate the sports federations to develop a vision of the requirements and mechanisms for returning to sporting activity in the country as soon as possible.
