Henrik Stenson and his family left Florida and the United States a couple of weeks ago and have since been "at home" in Skåne to enjoy the Swedish summer. Already in an interview with TT just over a month ago, the 44-year-old hinted that it was not in a hurry with a comeback after the corona break - and Stenson is sticking to the plan.

When the PGA Tour is back in Fort Worth, Texas, next week, the Swedish star remains on blue-yellow ground. Only in the month of July - August does Henrik Stenson expect to compete again.

"Yep, most likely WGC (Fedex St Jude, starting July 30) and the PGA Championship (the first major week of the year) as the first competitions with applicable quarantine rules in the United States," he writes in a text message.

Hope on message

Prior to that, Stenson hopes to have been notified of the Ryder Cup, the hot US-Europe golf game that is slated to be settled at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin last week in September. There are a number of question marks: Does the Ryder Cup ever get off, if so how - and how are the rules of qualification affected by the corona pandemic.

"Follow the info and hope we will hear something about the Ryder Cup in the near future," Stenson writes.

While the PGA Tour is set to start soon, the European Tour plans for a reboot in July and the Dubai final in December. Stenson mostly expects games in the US during the fall, as the situation is now.

“European tour play in late autumn doubtful, but see how everything takes place and how travel restrictions affect. Keeping track of Skåne in the meantime, ”he writes.
